A downloadable game for Windows

A game inspired by Yume Nikki in which you play as Madison, a girl who won't leave her bedroom, choosing instead to walk through the worlds of her dreams.

Install instructions

No installation required, just extract the file wherever you like and run the game executable. If you're a Linux user, you have two options: download the Windows package and run it through Wine, or download the ipk3 file, install GZDoom and run it from the terminal as such:

$ gzdoom -iwad /path/to/dreamscapes.ipk3

I used to provide a portable Linux package but with newer versions of GZDoom that is no longer an option.

The preferred way to play the game is to download the Windows package even if you're on Linux and/or you already have GZDoom installed, as your copy of GZDoom is likely to have settings that differ from the default ones used by the game. If you wish to use your own GZDoom installation that's fine, this is just something to keep in mind.

On all platforms, including Mac, it should also be possible to drag the ipk3 file into the GZDoom executable.

Starts on lzdoom and gzdoom on Delta Touch. Starting in the bedroom you can interact with computer but as soon as you go outside you are walking in darkness not able to really move far.

Which version of GZDoom are you using? I'm developing this in the latest version (4.10), it might not work correctly in older versions.

I'm sorry the game doesn't explain itself at all, I am working on that. I'll add a message at the very start notifying the player to press F1 to open the help screen, which will have some information in it. As of yet it has none.

Anyway, if you can't see anything at all in the darkness, you might want to increase your gamma a little bit, although there's nothing much to see regardless. What you should do at the start is walk on top of the bed so you go to sleep and wake up in the dream world. From there you are able to leave through the door that won't open in the waking world. This takes you to a hub map that leads to all of the different dreamscapes, which you can visit in any order you like.

One more thing: this game is meant to be played on a computer, preferably on GZDoom 4.10, which is the version I use. I do not plan on supporting older or mobile versions of GZDoom. It probably does work on some of the older versions, but I cannot guarantee it.

GZDoom Dev v4.10 is the version of gzdoom on Delta Touch android.
